The municipality is situated approximately 48 km from Malaga capital. It has a population of approximately 2,500 residents.

NATURAL AND HISTORIC BEAUTY
Thare are many areas of natural and historic interest around Benahavis, such as El Cerro del Duque, Daidin and the Montemayor Castle.
Casarabonela faces the Guadalhorce Valley, the Hoya de Malaga, the Sierra Prieta mountain and a part of the coast far to the south  - thereby affording spectacular views in all directions.

The Qasr Bunayra Castle or "Fortaleza Refugio del Rey Chico"was a fortification that the rebel Ibn Hafsun established to maintain control against the Emirs of Cordoba. The Castilians would capture it on 2nd June 2, using it as a military fortress until the 18th century.

Iglesia Santiago Apostol - One of Casarabonela´s most important monuments. It was formerly a collegiate church, originally built on an old Mosque in the fifteenth century in late Gothic style.
The botanical garden of cacti and other succulents - MORA I BRAVARD - has over 2,500 different species of cacti and succulents, and is the largest collection in Spain by number of species.
Casarabonela is a very well kept, traditional Spanish white village that not only has everything you need for a relaxing, enjoyable holiday but is also conveniently approximately one hour from both the coast and Malaga airport.
